Toms RegFileViewer Free 2.0 (Freeware)
With Tom’s Reg File Viewer Free you can explore *.REG-Files just like you explore your registry using regedit.exe. On the left hand, the treeview control lets you navigate through the registry keys in the file. On the right hand, you can see the values belonging to the chosen registry key. Tom’s Reg File Viewer Free can display all kinds of *.REG-Files (Win9X\Nt4-Files, beginning with “REGEDIT4” as well as *.REG-Files beginning with “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00”), with no limitations on their size. The right-handed listview displays all known datatypes. By right-clicking on this listview, you can open a DetailView-Dialog. Registry keys and value entries containing “-“, i.e. they would be deleted by your system, got special icons, so you can easily recognize them. It may prevent you from damaging, or deleting parts of your registry!
Of course, Tom’s Reg File Viewer does not change your system or your files. Feel Free to download the most recent Version 2.0 here. So, just enjoy and discover the
structure and content of your registry files, save them as “Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00”-compliant or “REGEDIT4”-compliant. By selecting a branch – you can also save this branch to a windows registry hive. You can also use the implemented
wildcard search (“*” or “?”) to find any string you want. Your search results can be saved as a table, i.e. as comma-separated-value-file (*.CSV) or as a new registry file (*.REG). There is no reason for using a text editor to display registry files, for it does not allow to view the entire structure.
